You may dream about this, but no one ever does it. Until now. Frank Jonen, who runs his own small web design company, claims he wasn’t paid properly by Fitness SF, one of his clients. So, he went and replaced the Fitness SF website with an angry letter about how evil the bastards at Fitness SF are. Amazing.

Reblogging “help” again because YES YES YES PACKAGING WIN! So often overlooked. I saw some in the Teet recently and stood there for 5 minutes reading the packaging until the clerk got impatient!
One of dozens and dozens of concepts rendered by designer Saul Bass on the path to creating the iconic poster image for The Shining. Kubrick clearly favored this pointillist approach, which ended up being used in final design.
Hand-written notes are by Stanley Kubrick, and read: “Maze and figures place too much emphasis on maze. I don’t think we should use the maze in ads”.
Many of Saul Bass’s concept sketches can be viewed at the Stanley Kubrick Exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

The Liquid Glacial design embeds surface complexity and refraction within a powerful fluid dynamic. The elementary geometry of the flat table top appears transformed from static to fluid by the subtle waves and ripples evident below the surface, while the table’s legs seem to pour from the horizontal in an intense vortex of water frozen in time.
